The spark for this collection came after a trip to Iceland, where time was spent exploring the colours and textures of these new landscapes. Simple rocks, grasses and rivers have never looked more surreal and I became fascinated with how common verbiage could be translated in different ways to tell new stories. How, in taking the familiar and making it unfamiliar, it can help us to better understand our own human experience.
Using the ever-changing landscapes, filled with their warm neutrals and wild textures, as inspiration, this series is all loose brush strokes, toned down palettes, and unplanned lines intersecting in an effort to capture these feelings of discovery- the curiosity, peace, and wildness that felt like it was overflowing with every mile we drove across this unfamiliar plane.
