As one of two premier developments from Fastmark, Beau is a new rowhome style building coming to the Vancouver market. Aimed at growing families, these homes feature cutting edge mass-timber construction, a mid-tier price point, and every unit has it’s own outdoor space, making this a unique offering in a crowded market.

goal

My goal with Beau was to create an identity that would be bold within a busy space, while maintaining it’s minimal and sophisticated design. It needed to sit comfortably with its sister brand, Nora, while ensuring that it had its own voice and brand from all touchpoints.

process

Using grids and lines, library typefaces, and a simplified colour palette Beau is cool, crisp and effortless; austere without being stuffy. It is technical and scientific in it’s look,  alluding to the innovative mass-timber construction, yet balanced by colour play and a hand-drawn architecture sketch to bring out its humanness. An analogous blue colour palette creates depth and movement when layered together, allowing the type forward layouts to shine.
